Thrrum MMS Search allows visual mobile searchSemantic search has been shown off before, and there have even been trials and full-blown service launches of visual mobile search services. But, 23half Inc.’s Thrrum MMS Search is the first ever visual mobile search service available in the US – specifically for Sprint and AT&T subscribers. The service is available through each carrier’s MMS picture messaging service.

23half wants to turn “any text that you see around you becomes a hyperlink that can be “clicked” upon with your camera phone.” And, in doing so, takes visual search to the next level.

Sprint and AT&T subscribers can try out Thrrum MMS Search by sending an MMS picture message to m@thrrum.com. The service will analyze any picture of a book, a product label or any printed material and return relevant product information to the user. The service is still beta, but it’s free.
