Wall charger burns down mobile homeWe’re used to hearing about batteries in mobile phones catching fire and causing bodily injury, but it’s not too often that we hear about cellphone wall-chargers going up in flames.

In what could be the first mobile home fire related to defective wall-charger, the Delaware Online is reporting that just such a fire caused $30,000 in damage to a mobile home near Millsboro. Fortunately, no one was home when the fire broke out. Authorities are saying that the “fire was caused by a malfunctioning cell phone charger that ignited the wall covering in a bedroom.”

Let this be a lesson to all you mobile phone enthusiasts with a flair for wall-paper. Unplug that cellphone charger from your paper-covered wall before leaving home.
