LG has given us a preview of what they say is the cheapest touch-screen mobile phone ever built… The LG KP500.
It’s a quad-band GSM handset that has an embedded stylus pen concealed in the base. The OS contains a handwriting recognition app that allows users to quickly jot memos and text messages. There is also a QWERTY keyboard that slides into view when the device is held horizontally. And, of course, depending on the orientation of the device, it will adjust images and documents for proper viewing.
Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile said: “The feedback we receive from consumers around the world indicate that there’s more people who wish to try the latest touch screen phones…We want to reach out to this group and LG KP500 is our answer to deliver a high quality full touch screen phone that is easy to use and much easier to afford. Within reach of many consumers, we hope that more people will experience the joy of using the latest touch screen technology with LG KP500.”
Looks like a cool device at what will be an affordable price-point. The LG KP500 should be available at the end of October in Europe. The rest of the world will no doubt be soon to follow. For more info and specs, head on over here.
