With the US economy faltering and affecting the global economy, gadget sales are likely to take a big hit this holiday shopping season. While there’s no doubt that retailers will see a bump in gadget sales, they’re unlikely to see the booming sales figures of years past.

A recent survey indicates that consumers are least likely to pick up a Bluetooth headset this season, as a down-moving economy pushes consumers away from what could be seen as a frivolous expense. But, that doesn’t necessarily mean that mobile phone sales will suffer accordingly. Or, does it?

We know for a fact that the holiday gadget-buying craze that we normally embark upon around late-November isn’t going to be the bargain-fueled madness that it usually is. What say you, dear readers? Will you be spending less on mobile gadgets (or any gadget) this year? Will you be spending the same? Or, will you be spending more?

(As for the image, we had to give Little Bush some credit for getting us into this mess)

If sales are not strong for the retailers, does that usually mean that there will be bigger price cuts? If that’s the case, I’ll buy when the prices are at the lowest.
