Rumor: Verizon Unleashing $10 Unlimited Web ‘Connect’ Plan?

An anonymous tipster has let Gizmodo know that Verizon intends to launch a new plan called ‘Connect’. The plan is aimed at web-enabled cellphones, not smartphones. The new plan could be available as early as November 16th, and will be cheaper than the Vcast service. If you sign up for ‘Connect’ on top of your current Verizon plan, you’ll get unlimited mobile web browsing for only $10. Not a bad add-on.

From the tipster:

If someone does not want the Vcast service, this is a step above the current premium plans. So if your premium plan is $79.99, you can add Vcast for $15, for a total of about $95. With Connect it will be only $10 more, for a total of about $89.00. Connect allows for unlimited mobile web so if you want to save five bucks, and have the premium plan with unlimited mobile web, but no Vcast, that’s the new plan.

And if you want to add it on a secondary line, it’s also $10 bucks. It will be available on November 16 mobile web phones only, not smartphones.

What do you think? Fact or Fiction? As far as I can tell the Premium plan at the big V already includes unlimited data, Vcast, VZ Navigator and unlimited messaging. The ‘Connect’ plan will probably fall between the Select Plan and Premium plan that are already being offered. This would serve up a $5 savings compared to the Select Plan, and $10 savings in comparison to the Premium.
