Taiwan has been importing gray-market iPhone 3G units since the iconic handset’s launch this year, but there hasn’t been an official, carrier-subsidized iPhone 3G offering in the island-nation. But, that’s all about to change.
Chunghwa Telecom has announced that they’ve inked a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone 3G to Taiwan ahead of the December holidays. As Taiwan’s largest wireless carrier, Chunghwa Telecom has been honored with an exclusive deal to sell the iPhone 3G to its customers.
Pricing and exact availability are not yet known, but expect to see the iPhone 3G hitting Taiwan before the end of 2009.
