Tired of plugging in your mobile device to recharge the battery? Want a stronger grip? (trust me, I’m going somewhere with this) If you answered yes to both of those questions, have I got a device on the horizon for you.

The GettaGrip Musclephone is a new device currently going through the patent certification process. What’s so special about it? Well, according to James Ferguson’s ‘Pat Pending’ feature in the Dec. 12 Financial Times…

“Forty seconds’ vigorous squeezing of the GettaGrip Musclephone gives a full recharge of the lithium-ion battery. That’s 20 seconds per hand. No more scrabbling around for a recharger. No more rationing calls because the battery is getting low. And all the while developing a grip like a gorilla.”

A great concept. I hope it makes it through the patent certification process. Out of curiosity I’d like to know how many hours of talk time the lithium-ion battery can normally put out on a full charge though…That’s kind of important.

I can only hope Apple will develop a new version of the iPhone for Macworld called the iPhone ‘Grip’… er… iPhone ’4Grip’? All joking aside, I do love the idea of never having to plugin to charge the device. All I’d need is food/caloric intake to produce enough energy to squeeze the device for 40 seconds. I think I can do that.
