Samsung is out with a new mid-range handset for its domestic market – W690. The newly launched clamshell is offered through SK Telecom, which will sell it in two colors, black and white.

What sets the W690 apart is the 2.6-inch QVGA (240×320 pixels) AMOLED screen that should reportedly make the device run longer even with a 800mAh battery. Other specs include 3G (HSDPA) support, 1.5-inch 128×128 pixels OLED external display, music player, Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera, and pretty large keys that promise ease of use.

And that’s about all we can say about it. In a nutshell, it’s a decent phone and I guess we’ll see Samsung pushing it outside South Korea in the near future. Stay tuned…
