Hyundai Mobile Coming to the UK

Last time I checked, Hyundai made cars. Now, you can add mobile devices to the list. Hyundai Mobile has announced that they will be a larger player in the mobile device scene, adding Hyundai Mobile UK as their newest business venture. To follow up on apparent past successes they’ve had in Hungary, Slovenia and Germany, Hyundai Mobile UK will be based out of Oxfordshire, England.

When asked to comment on the Hyundai brand entering the mobile market on a larger scale, CEO of Hyundai Mobile Europe Norbert Winkler commented:

“Hyundai is one of the five biggest car manufacturers and is ranked 72nd in the world’s most valuable brands, which is bound to provide a positive image transfer to Hyundai mobiles…”

10 to 15 devices are planned to launch in the first half of 2009.

Hyundai Mobile will be at the Mobile World Congress event in February, so I’m going to have to get one of our team into their booth for more pictures, videos… and information 🙂 Should be interesting to see what products they have in their lineup.

Thanks Ben!
