Customized estimate report for your specific vehicle and repair service

No one likes running into car troubles. Whether it’s a mechanical breakdown or an auto accident, it can be a hassle getting a tow truck, finding a good mechanic, and comparing repair estimates from multiple shops. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could use your iPhone to help you through those trying times?

Enter RepairPal.

RepairPal for iPhone puts a network of searchable tow-services and auto shops right on your iPhone or iPhone 3G. The new iPhone app makes it quick and easy to find the nearest tow service or mechanic with its iPhone-styled UI and integrated repair-cost estimator.

Fire up RepairPal for iPhone and you’ll be asked to enter information about your vehicle. A scroll-menu serves up options for your car’s make, model, and year (ex. 2007 Audi A4). Another menu helps you specify what kind of service your car needs (ex. Spark Plug Replacement). Then, specify a particular location or let RepairPal determine your iPhone’s current location. RepairPal searches the auto shops in your area with the expertise to service your vehicle, and comes back with an estimated range of the cost of the auto repair. From finding a capable auto shop for your specific car to comparing estimates from multiple shops, RepairPal for iPhone makes it easy to get your car back on the road in a jiff.

Best of all, RepairPal for iPhone is completely free through the iPhone App Store (iTunes link). The folks at RepairPal want to make sure that everyone can use their service to help people get their cars serviced with as little hassle as possible.

It seems to be a great app, unfortunately doesn’t allow the input of 2008 or 2009 model year vehicles. I did email the publisher requesting they update their database.
