A company called JTrek has recently unveiled its security and safety software for smartphones, which uses video, photo, audio and GPS monitoring capabilities.
Available as a subscription-based service, JTrek allows users to have a full-time personal surveillance protection device. All that is required is a compatible smartphone, data access and a small network of emergency contacts.
Here’s how it works in real life:
If the user is in danger, he or she simply sends a panic alert. This notifies emergency contacts and law enforcement. The automated web-based monitoring center receives the notification, determines where the problem is, and immediately sends alerts to the user’s emergency contacts so that help may be dispatched.
Finally, let’s talk about compatible platforms. JTrek supports most modern smartphones — including Windows Mobile, Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia and Symbian OS devices… More information is available from JTrek’s website.
