PalringoPalringo has updated its popular “rich messaging application” for iPhone. The updated app is more location aware, going beyond contact’s location information — which typically shows a town name — by including how far away that contact is.

But Palringo will go even further. The next update [due soon] will add maps to the mix, enabling users to see exact location of each of their contacts. Moreover, you will be able to see which of your Palringo buddies are located within a 10km radius.

On the same note, you could reveal your location to any, all or no contacts, changing this selection at any time. Location can be set manually, or let Palringo detect it automatically using iPhone’s built-in GPS receiver or local cellular towers in case of the original iPhone.

If you already have Palringo installed, the AppStore/iTunes has probably already informed you that the updated version is available. If you don’t run it on your iPhone/iPod Touch, here’s a link from where you can grab it.
