Pantech is out with yet another Korea-only device. What makes the IM-S410K aka Sky Wind stand out from the crowd is that it recognizes short and long blows via microphone to do such things as switching wallpapers and adjusting screen brightness. Moreover, if you hold the phone with both hands and “use” one of those ultra-strong blows, the Sky Wind will trigger a camera to snap a picture.
In addition to recognizing blows, the device packs an accelerometer and can also detect moves through camera. All this is possible due Pantech’s three-year long exclusive agreement with Fantalog Interactive which provided its Emotion Engine software for the device. Finally, as a result of this deal, I guess we’ll see more “emotion-aware” phones coming out from Korean manufacturer in the near future. Hmmm, and I wondered what happens when you “switch from suck to blow.” (from “Spaceballs“).
