Twitter CEO Biz Stone has revealed some upcoming plans for their popular microblogging service which has seen significant enterprise adoption (yep, even by us).
“We are noticing more companies using Twitter and individuals following them. We can identify ways to make this experience even more valuable and charge for commercial accounts.”
Twitter is an incredibly effective way for companies to communicate with their customers directly and personally. Although some brands have soured at the notion of paying for Twitter, the creators need to tap some kind of revenue stream; there aren’t even ads right now. Of course, we are left to wonder what kind of corporate features Twitter is willing to lure paying customers in with. Whatever they are, hopefully the features won’t empower corporations to push their products too agressively on the general twittering population.
