big-nerd-ranchAre you a developer that has been itching to learn more and start developing apps for Android? If you are, and aren’t afraid to drop some coin on solid training, Big Nerd Ranch is holding an ‘Android Bootcamp’ from March 16th – 20th in Atlanta. The bootcamp will take you through everything Android, from a basic intro, widgets and containers, menus and messages… all the way through playing media and  advanced APIs. A quick description from BNR:

Android Bootcamp is an intensive 5-day training course designed for developers who wish to create applications for the Android development platform.

Android is unlike any other mobile development platform or Java-based environment. This class will immerse students in the Android platform, leveraging their existing Java expertise, allowing students to walk away from the class ready to build Android GUIs and related components. Android Bootcamp includes instruction on the basics of setting up activities and UI widgets, as well as advanced capabilities that make Android compelling, such as GPS, mapping, Internet access, multimedia, and on-device search.

So how much will the bootcamp set you back? Try a cool $3,500 USD. The price of course does include all of your instruction and training, plus class materials, a luxury room, 3 meals a day, a t-shirt (gotta have the ‘free’ t-shirt), and ground transportation to and from the airport. Once you arrive in Atlanta, Big Nerd Ranch takes care of you.
