Looks like all those months of paying your T-Mobile bill on time (not to mention your rent in San Francisco) has payed off. T-Mobile has just flipped the switch on their new $50 unlimited calling plan for loyal T-Mobile customers in the San Francisco area!
The all-you-can-eat calling plan from T-Mobile is ostensibly a counter-punch to Boost Mobile’s recently-launched $50 unlimited “everything” plan. Unfortunately, T-Mobile’s own unlimited calling plan only serves up unlimited wireless minutes, and will only be made available to T-Mo subscribers with a San Francisco address and 22 months worth of paid-up wireless bills. Loyal customers will be able to jump to the new voice plan without a contract extension or penalty fees.
T-Mobile’s $50 unlimited calling plan could ultimately help drive down wireless service costs in the US. If anything, Yanks could see unlimited wireless plans dropping in price over the next year or so. But, there’s little hope that the new unlimited voice call offering from the Deutsche Telekom-owned US wireless carrier will boost new subscriber sign-up. After all, why sign up for a carrier just to get at the $50 unlimited calling plan after 22 full months of paying higher rates?
San Franciscans can head to their local T-Mo store to sign up for the new unlimited voice plan.
