Mapquest is making some waves in the mobile space with a new feature that allows users to save previously-mapped locations and routes. With My Places for Mapquest Mobile 4, mobile users can save specific locations and directions on their PC and access them from their mobile phones.

My Places is currently only available for BlackBerry users, but Mapquest plans to bring their location-saving service to other handsets and mobile platforms – which means we’ll likely see My Places hitting Mapquest Mobile for Windows Mobile and iPhone in the near future.

To get your hands on the new My Places feature, you’ll have to install (or upgrade) Mapquest Mobile 4. Navigate your cellphone’s mobile browser to m.mq4m.com and download the new version.
