Yeah, I know, we just love the wireless namesakes around here, eh? But what better way to represent the nonstop, frequent updates to IntoMobile’s news stream? We’ve been working closely with Viigo to recreate the IntoMobile you all know and love on BlackBerry and Windows Mobile. There’s a lot that goes through our front page, and it’s entirely likely that there’s some stuff you’re especially interested in. With Frequency, you can subscribe to individual categories, so you’re only getting the content that you want. Just cruise over to the IntoMobile channel, hit Add Channels, and you’re browsing the categories like a champ.

After meeting up with Viigo at MWC, we’re sure you guys will dig some of their upcoming enhancements. For example, Viigo just upgraded their NHL coverage, so you can browse rosters, check standings, scores, and stats from their Sports channel. Of course, don’t feel like because you’re getting the IntoMobile version of Viigo that you’re locked down to just our content – the News and RSS channel lets you plunk in any feeds you want, and a highly browsable catalog lets you find other sites that tickle your fancy. Even if you’ve settled into reading through Bloglines, Google Reader or My Yahoo!, you can easily import your feeds into Frequency. There’s plenty more, but really, we just wanted to give you guys an easier way to follow IntoMobile on your phone. It’s free, so why not go ahead and tune in to your own Frequency?

Simon Sage

Simon Sage’s education largely surrounded writing, technology and online community, leading him to begin his blogging career at www.BlackBerryCool.com and to quickly discover a vibrant and active community surrounding BlackBerry and mobile technology. In exploring RIM’s platform, he has learned what enterprises are looking for in mobility as well as what makes the innocuous BlackBerry so appealing to them. Recently Simon’s been covering RIM’s gradual move into an already-crowded consumer market, and the impact of burgeoning challengers, such as the iPhone, as well as long-time leaders, like Nokia, on BlackBerry’s advancement. With plenty of content under his belt, Simon will be branching off a bit to see what other smartphone manufacturers are working on while still using BlackBerry as a barometer. At IntoMobile, you can count on his posts being even-handed, well-informed and thought-out.

What about some love for Android?

  • Simon Sage

My impression is that we’ll be seeing something for iPhone first, but I’m sure Viigo’s got something for Android in the works.

    Hey,

    the app seems very promising.
However, looks like it’s still problematic…
Enough said, I installed this on my SE X1 and it slowed down the whole device 2 x times,
and some rss made the app crash/exit without any reason.

But I look forward to any improvements, UI is very nice.
