
I’m not sure whether strategy to conquer the iDEN market could prove successful for Motorola’s turnaround, but it definitely seems like a “money in the bank” place, no other major handset maker is pursuing. That said, we’ve spotted a new Motorola iDEN slider phone, which unlike many iDEN devices looks pretty cool. It’s far from being a “monster phone” in terms of specs, but I guess iDEN network users don’t demand that at all. There’s a 1.3 megapixel camera on board, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, microSD memory card slot, 2.2-inch screen, and of course a push-to-talk capability. As for the release date, Engadget suggests interested users will have to wait for Q3, when the Motorola i856 will be officially available for purchase…
