Some quick free (and fun) iPhone gaming here for you this weekend. Currently sitting in the #1 position for free apps in the App Store is Catcha Mouse from Odasoft. The game is a simple puzzle game. Stop the mouse from escaping via one of the holes by laying down mousetraps. Block his patch and trap him in an area with no escape routes… and you win! The game is ‘turn’ based, so don’t be thinking you have to lay down the traps quickly before the mouse runs away (I thought this at first!). Put down a trap, the mouse makes a move, then you can study the board and put down another trap, then the mouse makes a move, etc… You get the idea.

For a free game this one isn’t bad at all. There’s some solid enjoyment within if you get a kick out of puzzle games, as there are 100 levels of gameplay to explore… and 3 levels of difficulty. If you love the game so much that you want to show some more love, you can go ahead and pick up Catcha Mouse 2 for $0.99 (iTunes Link) in the App Store. The second installment offers over 200 new levels, new scenarios, and even the option to play as the mouse in multiplayer mode.

In the meantime, you can try out Catcha Mouse for free (iTunes Link).
