iBone - Pocket Trombone for iPhone and iPod Touch

The company called Spoonjack recently launched iBone – the so called “Pocket Trombone for iPhone and iPod Touch.” The application allows users to play-a-long with music from their iTunes library, and also with songs from the iBone Songbook.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Touch the display or blow into the microphone to produce a sound.
  2. Slide fingers to change pitch.
  3. Raise and lower the bell to change volume.

As for the mentioned Songbook, it features a selection of traditional and classical favorites such as Air (on a G String) with Guitar, Aura Lee with Piano, Greensleeves with Accordion, and Ride of the Valkyries with Orchestra; and also shows user where to press in real-time — so even the novice can play.

iBone is definitely a fun app, it costs 3 bucks ($2.99), and you can grab it from here. (iTunes link)
