As expected, MetroPCS is now selling the compact texter from Motorola, the QA30 hint. Alltel is already offering this one, and Bell is on the way, so there are options abound if your heart is set on it. I played around with the slider a little bit at CTIA Wireless, and the form factor is interesting, at very least – it was still hard to get used to holding what was almost a perfect square when closed after so many generations of rectangular phones. The specs aren’t spectacular, but here’s the run-down.

  • 2 megapixel camera
  • 2.5-inch QVGA (320×240 pixels) screen
  • Standard 3.5mm headset jack
  • EV-DO connectivity
  • Bluetooth
  • GPS
  • microSD memory card slot
  • 256MB of ROM, and 128MB of RAM

The off-contract pricetag reads $249.00, go ahead and pick up yours online. If you’re looking for something a little smarter, it might be worth your while to check out the Propel Pro on AT&T.
