Samsung SGH-T201G

Tracfone has a new entry-level device in its offering. It’s the Samsung SGH-T201G, which is the operator’s third device coming from the South Korean giant — two previously offered handsets are the Samsung SGH-T101G candybar and SGH-T301G slider. From what we’ve just wrote, you’re obviously thinking “it’s clamshell time,” and you’re right about that one.

Just like its other two Tracfone brothers, the Samsung SGH-T201G is a low-end device sporting only basic phone functions for calling and texting. In addition, there’s an array of Samsung’s classic mobile apps like calendar, alarm and calculator to help you keep organized while on the go. Don’t expect the wonder out of these apps, though — we’re talking about an entry-level handset here, after all. As for the size, the SGH-T201G measures 1.8×3.5×0.8 inches. Pricing and availability were not announced…

    I LOVE my Tracfone!

I dumped my AT&T phone and got out of my cellphone contract when the company changed its terms. (Did you know that if they do that, it voids the contract? They don’t tell you that, but I saw it on the Consumerist site and it worked! No termination fee too. Haha.)

Anyway, I got a prepaid Tracfone and I haven’t ever had a problem with it. I wouldn’t know about the customer service because I never had a reason to call them.

But the best thing about this is that there aren’t any bills and I know what my costs are because I pay upfront for my calls. It’s great!

Even though TracFone may not have the top end phones yet, they have fully capable phones. Their service is unbelievable. Wherever I travel, I have reception. I pay just $50 for unlimited talk and text, and the line phones they offer, may not be top of the line, but they are fully capable, and great for texting.
