The Palm Pre isn’t even out yet (current estimates point to a June 7 release on Sprint), but already evidence among manufacturer partners suggests the next WebOS handset is well in the works, and could be hitting shelves before the end of 2009. The only real info we have is that this second device will be smaller than the original, hence Mini-Pre, and may be out as soon as the fall. Apple has also been rumoured recently to be working on their own smaller, lighter iPhone, so it’s entirely possible these two will butt heads over the 2009 holiday season. One would hope that the second WebOS phone would land on GSM carriers, but we’ll just have to keep our ears open for some more info.
