Think you have what it takes to “design the future” for the mobile space? If you’ve ever thought you could design a mobile phone to better suit your needs and style, you’ll want to check out LG’s “Design The Future” mobile phone design competition. As if a chance to have your design concepts used in future LG phones wasn’t enough motivation, LG is putting up tens of thousands in prize money for the best “future” mobile phone designs.

But, you’d better get working on those mobile phone designs! The LG “Design the Future” competition is only open for two more weeks! If you want a chance to win up to $10,000 for your design concept, you only have until 6:59am GMT on June 8, 2009. That pretty much means anyone in the North America will want to submit their designs by midnight on June 7.

Make sure to check out LG’s “Tips for Submission” here (PDF link) or on LG’s contest website, it’ll make the submission process a lot easier to understand.

This is what you’ll be gunning for:

Award 1: $20,000
Award 2: $10,000
Award 3: $5,000
Plus 40 awards of $1,000 and an LG phone

What are you waiting for? Get to designing that future mobile phone! Oh, if you need some design software, Autodesk is offering a free 15-day trial of their industry-leading design software.

Submit your entries here.

Good luck!
