Woohoo! For the Canadians out there that are sitting, waiting patiently (and politely) for the launch of Android in Canada (on Rogers)… Some pricing info has dropped via a tipster at the MobileSyrup Forums. Seems as though the tipster got his hands on some pricing info from Best Buy.

The pricing info is as follows:

Rogers HTC Dream in White or Black:

  • $149.99 on a 3 year contract (In-Store activation only) with a $45 voice/data plan
  • $399.99 on a 3 year contract
  • $449.99 for 2 year contract
  • $499.99 for 1 year contract
  • $549.99 Monthly
  • $599.99 for the Handset Only

Rogers HTC Magic:

  • $149.99 on a 3 year contract (In-Store activation only) with a $45 voice/data plan
  • $399.99 on a 3 year contract
  • $449.99 for 2 year contract
  • $499.99 for 1 year contract
  • $549.99 Monthly
  • $599.99 for the Handset Only

It’s all good! The pricing here is pretty much what was expected. Only slight surprise here is Best Buy’s almost insistance that you come into the store for activation (note the much lower price for in-store activation). They must have some sort of deal worked out with Rogers… Why would anyone pick up either device for $399.99 when you can just as easily get it for $149?

Anywhoo, not much longer to wait now… Android is almost north of the border!
