PC gaming veteran id Software has already pledged to move into the iPhone scene, but now they’re kicking things up a notch from just cashing in on nostalgia. You can already play the original Doom on iPhone and Android, if you’re inclined to rock the old-school chainsaw, but Doom: Resurrection looks is a significantly greater push on graphics capabilities of the iPhone. It’ll be interesting to see just how much more horsepower the iPhone 3GS will have to offer game developers, but one thing is for sure: the OpenGL support will open a lot of doors for them. If the video doesn’t impress you, apparently id has stated that the wrong trailer got out, so it may be even better than what you’re seeing there.
