While Will is busy cranking away posts about the iPhone thanks to the 3G S launching in less than 48 hours, and Simon is causing jealously all over Canada thanks to his latest Facebook announcing that he just recived his Nokia N97 in the mail, I’m left here, in Finland, at nearly 3 in the morning with a sun that refuses to set. So what do I do to pass the time?

Watch videos like these:

Great job Phone Arena! Make sure to read their entire text review of the Nokia N97 while we wait for Simon to write his thoughts up. Personally, I just want a damn E72 already!

Oh no! They don’t view it as the second coming of Jesus.

How fast are all the N-fanbois going to cry foul :)

Really, Nokia didn’t manage to pull off what everyone expected.

The CPU is old and slow. Available RAM for apps is not enough for a flagship multimedia phone. Camera is nowhere near the quality of Samsung i8910 or other top end rivals. Browser is slow, old and tired (HTML5 where?). Screen has a small resolution and is not very responsive. Touch UI is still ‘first effort’ level of quality – nowhere near Pre, iPhone or even the best of WM skins (TF3D etc). And the messaging features really are lacking compared to E-series (what, N-series users are not allowed to have efficient email?).

32GB built-in flash does not make these shortcomings go away.

Hope there’s a N97i in the pipeline and fast. Or something more noteworthy from the E-series.

Nokia really needs to shape up their game next year.
