Remember Simon’s post about the upcoming version of BlackBerry Messenger? The good news today is that this latest version will be coming to ALL 5.0 devices! The new version is set to feature avatar support (cool), GPS integration, home screen contacts… But that’s not all… Today some more juicy details have leaked out about it… Here’s what’s new:

  • SMS support – Finally… threaded SMS!
  • PIN barcode scanning – Can’t remember a friends PIN or email address? Take a picture of your friends’ ‘barcode’ with your built-in camera!
  • Backup/Restore Messenger list to microSD card – I could see this coming in handy.

I’ve also got a few more updated screenshots below for you to check out via BGR. The 5.0 BlackBerry Messenger goodness is looking great!
