RIM has just released a beta for a new plug-in that will add a few long-awaited features to the GMail experience on BlackBerry. After applying to the program, you can give it a shot and enjoy “emails in ‘conversation’ view for simple topic management”, stars and labels, spam reporting and whole inbox searching. Combined with recently-announced Google App Connector, this update makes GMail even more viable for enterprise, and even for everyday consumers, these are really great tools for keeping your e-mails in order. As for Exchange, we’ve seen similar stuff like flags and e-mail folders coming down the line for OS 5.0, so if GMail isn’t your thing, sit tight.
