At a recent analyst meeting, Ronald Garriques, President of Dell’s Consumer Division, said the company is working “with the top three to four” mobile operators to “see what their needs are.” He continued to say that the company is working on a range of smartphones, and also has plans to enter the category of devices with screen sizes between 4 and 12 inches. This is the second time Dell has confirmed that they’re working on smartphones, the first being when CEO Michael Dell let the cat out of the bag in Taipei over 3 months ago. No time frame was given for when these devices will hit the market and the assumption currently is that they’ll be running Google Android, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Exactly one month ago today, this photo leaked of what is assumed to be the first Dell smartphone.
