Jae Hyun Ryu, Director of the Mobile Communications Unit at Samsung Taiwan, said that the South Korean company is planning on launching over 10 touch screen devices in the Taiwanese market during the second half of this year. We already know about the Star 5230, Jet S8000, Beat DJ M7600, Omnia II i8000, Galaxy i7500 and Preston S5600, but that leaves more than 4 unknown models waiting to be unveiled. LG, combating that statement, has also said that they plan to launch 14 new handsets during the same period, and that half of them will be touch. Touch has gone from being a niche product feature, to standard in many devices. You’ve got to feel sorry for Nokia who only has three announced touch screen devices, two of which are on the market.
