Want to spend as much money as you possibly can on a new iPhone case? Now you can, thanks to the good folks at SoftBank over in Japan. The Japanese carrier has a new lineup of iPhone 3G and 3GS cases available for roughly $1,000 USD each. Dubbed ‘Japan Texture‘, the cases take designers roughly four weeks to complete using special paints and materials. Each case depicts a period in Japan’s Sengoku Period, and comes in a fancy wood box. On top of that, the case itself has a case to protect it. Yep, the case comes with its very own protective sleeve. Guess when you’re dropping that kind of moola you want to protect your investment. Better yet, put your iPhone 3G or 3GS in the case, put it in the sleeve, drop that in the box, close up the box and carry that around with you.

I have to admit, the cases do look cool. But not $1,000 worth of cool. If I was stinkin’ rich? Maybe… But I’d probably be too busy racing around my private go-kart track while wearing nothing but a velvet robe to worry about a new case for my iPhone.

For all the details, head on over to SoftBank.
