BlackBerry-AppWorld-WebGood news, everyone! RIM has launched a web site featuring the full BlackBerry App World library for easier perusing. We had heard this feature would be launching with the latest update to the on-device software portal, but clearly there were a few kinks in the site to iron out that stopped them from launching simultaneously. Still, this is a much easier way to browse through the multitudinous app categories than through the device app, especially if you happen to have a desktop browser at the ready. The shopping proper still happens on your BlackBerry, but you can send yourself links to apps you find on the website via e-mail. Hit up appworld.blackberry.com/webstore take a look around.

In exploring RIM’s platform, he has learned what enterprises are looking for in mobility as well as what makes the innocuous BlackBerry so appealing to them. Recently Simon’s been covering RIM’s gradual move into an already-crowded consumer market, and the impact of burgeoning challengers, such as the iPhone, as well as long-time leaders, like Nokia, on BlackBerry’s advancement. With plenty of content under his belt, Simon will be branching off a bit to see what other smartphone manufacturers are working on while still using BlackBerry as a barometer.
