Android Boots Up on HTC Kaiser

It’s not a new trick, but it is one that never gets old. This HTC Kaiser, perhaps better known as the AT&T Tilt, is shown here loading up Google’s mobile operating system, Android, thanks to some fancy codework in an app called HaRET, that apparently runs in Windows Mobile 6.5 (no ROM flashing required). Man, it looks weird navigating Android with a Stylus, though – very Twilight Zone. It’s not the most seamless switch, considering the camera still doesn’t work, but it’s still a solid proof of concept. For more info on getting Android shoehorned into the Kaiser and other HTC handsets, you can find instructions over here.

You do realize that a resistive touchscreen works with finger or stylus, right?

He’s obviously using a stylus so that we can see what’s going on, much easier. A finger would cover everything up.

You can also read more at at xda-developers.com, the geniuses behind getting Android on other HTC phones. I’m currently running Android on my HTC Vogue (Verizon version of the Touch) and loving it! There’s also a video of me using the Hero release on my Vogue at my site thismobilelife.com
