Unfortunately, it’s not the Ultimate Fighting Championship game that’s available in the AppStore, but the application designed for UFC fans. MobiTV provided the iPhone 3.0+ compatible technology in the background, allowing fans to grab pay-per-view content through in-app purchase option.
The first live stream went on September 19th, when former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin confronted former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Vitor Belfort at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
In addition to live events, fans can also use their shiny gadgets (iPhone or iPod Touch) to follow their favorite UFC athletes and access exclusive video-on-demand stories, interviews, breaking news highlights, weigh-ins, Octagon Girl bios, and view the schedule for upcoming UFC events.
The app itself costs a buck, whereas the first fight (UFC 103) was sold for $44.99, which sounds kinda steep to me…
