deCarta

deCarta has recently announced the launch of deCarta Mobile Search, a brand-able mobile local search alternative to traditional Internet search engines. The application is primarily offered to mobile operators, directory service providers and handset manufacturers — all which could boost their ROI using the app.

Feature wise, deCarta Mobile Search provides maps, address finding, routing, directions, and freeform text search of local content. In addition, the platform enables operators to change the look and feel of a native application, add content and manage the way content is presented to users.

deCarta Mobile Search is developed in JavaScript to run inside W3C compliant widget runtime frameworks across a wide variety of handset models and operating systems.

Finally, the press release ends with the announcement of the first customer – it’s the Deutsche Telekom-owned T-Mobile, which will roll out deCarta Mobile Search in Q4, 2009 in the UK, Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.
