Back in September Simon reported that Facebook 1.7 for BlackBerry would feature many new features, including a handy news filter feature. As Merlin (aka Simon) predicted, said filters have arrived, along with some other handy updates. Facebook 1.7 for BlackBerry has launched, and I’m sure many couldn’t be happier. Key features and enhancements you’ll find in 1.7:

  • News Feed Support – The ability to set the News Feed as the landing page
  • News Feed Filters – The ability to toggle between ‘News Feed, Status Updates, Photos & Links’
  • Caching Improvements – The application uses the device memory more efficiently
  • Feed Pre-fetching – The user will not be required to wait while their Facebook Feeds are updated
  • View Profile Menu Option – Clients may easily view their own profile by selecting ‘View my Profile’ from the menu

You can grab it via your App World client, or simply hit up blackberry.com/facebook or m.facebook.com from your Berry’s browser. Easy. So, what are you waiting for? You want to try out the new features, right? Go ahead and download and let me know what you think!
