FringFring had some great news to share recently, as O2 Slovakia is testing how its users like the popular VoIP/multi-network IM client — subscribers of O2 can grab Fring free of charge from a dedicated page on O2′s website. The idea seems to promote O2′s unlimited data offering with a great application that takes advantage of 3G connection, allowing users to chat with their friends on Skype, Google Talk, ICQ, Twitter, AIM and other popular IM/social networks. The application is available for a variety of phones, including those that are Java-enabled, as well as smartphones running Symbian or Windows Mobile. iPhone version is also available, but that’s another story.

Anyway, it’s good to see Fring teaming up with a carrier, and considering it’s O2 we’re talking about here — if everything goes as planned — I wouldn’t be surprised to see them extending the Fring offer to other markets they serve. We certainly wish all the best to the Fring folks. ;)
