New Documents to Go for BlackBerry Features Desktop Sync

Documents to Go, one of the big name mobile document apps for BlackBerry, has updated to version 2.0 and has quite a few impressive new features. The biggest one is desktop file sync, meaning any Office documents you’re actively editing on your desktop computer will update the same files stored on your BlackBerry’s microSD memory card, formatting and all, when connected via USB. I’m curious to see if this would work with two or more desktop computers, because it would be a common scenario where someone would work on a file in the office, sideload it onto the BlackBerry, do some light editing on the commute, then sync it again with the home computer. If there was some cloud-based syncing thrown in, that model would really work.

On top of the file syncing, there’s a few tweaks to the PDF reader and a new file browser application, and of course all of the PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, and Word document viewing you can shake a thumb at. If you have a newer BlackBerry, the free version of Docs to Go is already preloaded, but to get these features you’ll have to shell out $69.99 for the premium version.
