Strategy Analytics has conducted a survey of iPhone users in the U.S. and Western Europe to find out whether they lack a physical QWERTY keyboard on their beloved handset. Result is unsurprisingly – YES!
The company surveyed nearly 2,500 people, more than half of which indicated interest in a touchscreen and a physical QWERTY keyboard. However, Strategy Analytics’ Christopher Dodge points out that the traditional 12-key keypad still appeals to the mass market segment. In that sense, Paul Brown, another analyst from the company said: “With interest in various keyboard combinations differing by segment, it is important for both device manufacturers and operators to offer a variety of keyboard options within their device portfolios.”
To which we say: “Way to go Columbus!”
