File this under “so not confirmed” as we’ve found a new video on YouTube apparently showing some secret Nokia document, which talks about the still unknown Nokia N87 12MP device. From there we learn that such a handset, if it’s ever released, will come with:

  • 12.1-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and equipped with Xenon and Dual LED flash
  • 3.2-inch WVGA (800×480) capacitive touchscreen
  • 600 MHz CPU (why not more?)
  • Up to 16GB of internal storage
  • Slider for dedicated multimedia keys

And you could read the same from the screenshot bellow.

I’m hoping there’s some merit to this story, as this would certainly be a nice addition to Nokia’s somewhat lagging high-end portfolio…

    Fake, fake, fake.

That render has nothing professional on it.
Dual LED and Xenon? What’s the reason in terms of economy or whatever? I know that some people would argue that it would be for photo and video, but come on… Apart from some shady chinese manufacturer that tries to put that on a phone, who else will do it??

Maemo devices will have three numbers in its index, so it should be NXXX not N87.
Also, a 12 MPx device, if there’s some logic left, should go to the N98.

Finally, assuming it’s symbian (see the menu/multimedia/home/whatever button), it couldn’t have that resolution.

And the icing in the cake is for sure the “small” 3.2? screen. In such “beast” it would make it just lame….

Dual LED and Xenon makes perfect sense – its the ultimate in imaging for a mobile phone camera. As for your comment that Symbian couldnt run at such a high res, poppycock – this s a new device, you ignore that Symbian have probably been developing…

I would buy such an imaging phone – it seems to fit in well with the range ie N86 (imaging)..

I believe you will have to eat your hat in February..
