I guess we all expected to see this happening now that the Dell Mini 3i has been officially announced. As a matter of fact, I bet the working group behind the Android-powered smartphone is already working as a semi-separate part of the company and forming an “official division” is the next logical step forward.
According to a Dell spokesperson — and brought to us by the Wall Street Journal — the PC maker is planning to create a communications unit that would focus on mobile devices, handsets included. Ron Garriques, a former Motorola employee, will head the unit, which we hope, will be responsible for some really cool devices.
We don’t have additional details at this stage, but as soon as we hear something new on this, you’ll be the first to know. Stay tuned…
