BlueToad logoIn an effort to catch the audience on their mobiles, one of the world’s largest digital publishers, BlueToad, announced it will launch an iPhone app to publishers wishing to brand their digital publication via an iPhone app. BlueToad publications are already compatible with the iPhone and the Kindle via the devices’ internet browser, and turning the content into an app is a next step forward.

In the press release, the company’s president Paul DeHart talks about ad-supported deals: “Ad spend is continuing to move from print ads to the internet. Digital publishing provides a way for magazine publishers to tap into internet ad revenue while preserving the magazine as a medium.”

Finally the launch date(s) – BlueToad expects the iPhone app(s) to be available to publishers in January 2010. We’ll be there to watch. ;)
