Seesmic’s BlackBerry twitter client has been updated yet again, this time with such goodies as Google Maps thumbnails for geotagged tweets, previews of smaller attached pics, official retweets (along with a handy quote option if you still want to edit the text), and the ability to remotely delete tweets. Specifically helpful to BlackBerry users is BIS-B connectivity, so you can get access to twitter no matter how your phone gets online. There’s still no sign of integration with Ping.fm just yet, but I’m sure functions that allow you to update across multiple social networks at once are coming in good time. Between UberTwitter, SocialScope, and even an official Twitter app from RIM, Seesmic is up for some stiff competition in the long run, but hopefully their extensive experience in browser and PC-based twitter clients will pay off.

Simon Sage’s education largely surrounded writing, technology and online community, leading him to begin his blogging career at www.BlackBerryCool.com and to quickly discover a vibrant and active community surrounding BlackBerry and mobile technology. In exploring RIM’s platform, he has learned what enterprises are looking for in mobility as well as what makes the innocuous BlackBerry so appealing to them. Recently Simon’s been covering RIM’s gradual move into an already-crowded consumer market, and the impact of burgeoning challengers, such as the iPhone, as well as long-time leaders, like Nokia, on BlackBerry’s advancement. With plenty of content under his belt, Simon will be branching off a bit to see what other smartphone manufacturers are working on while still using BlackBerry as a barometer.
