Crumbs! The Motorola Milestone (or Motorola Droid as it is known in the US) hasn’t been out that long, showing off its Android goodness, and already it’s getting a substantial price-drop! The Milestone is packing some serious stats (480×854 screen, Android V2.0, 5MP camera for example), so now it’s well-equipped AND a good bargain!

According to TechDigest, eXpansys had the UK exclusivity until 14th Jan, but now it’s a veritable free-for-all as e-tailers like Play.com, Handtec, and Mobilefun get on the case, and start discounting things. The best price currently (at time of posting) is from Handtec at £398.31, but all of these deals are within a couple of pounds of each other.

It has apparently managed to rack up good volumes of sales since it’s release, so I’m maybe a little surprised to see it dropping in price – but then again, with the recent launch of the Google Nexus One, perhaps it was decided by the bods at Motorola to give the Milestone a little extra impetus – and a financial stimulus always helps, just ask the banks :-)

Anyway, click on the links in the story if you want to visit those e-tailers and check out their latest price.

My attention was drawn to your headline “Motorola Milestone get £100 price drop in UK”. Where do you get that figure from?

A Milestone from Expansys during their UK exclusive was £456.61 including VAT and delivery. The best price you have quoted is £398.30 from handtec, which excludes delivery. The total including next day delivery from handtec is £406.48.

According to my calculations, the price drop including delivery is therefore £50.13. Even excluding delivery it would be nowhere near £100.
