Aliph Launches Jawbone ICON Bluetooth Headset with MyTALK

Fans of Aliph’s line of Bluetooth headsets (Jawbone) will be pleased to know a new addition has hit the scene. The new ‘ICON’ Bluetooth headset is now available form Aliph, and it claims to be ‘The World’s First Truly Intelligent Bluetooth Headset’.

The ICON offers a new software platform dubbed ‘MyTALK’, which lets users of the headset personalize and update their Jawbones via the web at mytalk.jawbone.com. If you decide to pick up an ICON be sure to head back to the site and sign up for the private beta. Aliph is looking for feedback to help polish the MyTALK system.

Personalization and cool features built into the MyTALK include:

  • AudioApps. Lets users personalize the voice that conveys information into their ear. French, German and Spanish languages are also available.
  • DialApps. Lets users customize an easy access button linking directly to services of their choice such as free directory assistance, voice-to-SMS and voice dial.
  • Simultaneous Multipoint. Lets users switch seamlessly between two calls on different cell phones.
  • On/Off slide switch and one-button control. Delivers radical simplicity.
  • Visual battery meter. Displays remaining battery life at top of iPhone screen.

At the moment, the ICON is only available through Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and the Jawbone website for $99.99 (US Only), and will ship internationally by March.

    I've been a long time Windows Mobile user. I waited long enough for Microsoft to stay focused and update their OS. Well they finally listened, except now it won't be compatible with applications that I use today. So if I must change, Android here I come.
