A company called Comsys Mobile is demonstrating what they say is the first multimode mobile WiMAX/GSM-EDGE Android smartphone reference design (ComMAX CM1125) at Mobile World Congress. In addition to sporting multiple radios, CM1125 reference design also integrates WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and FM radio; along with other features and functionalities required — from antenna up to application processor. In other words, OEM/ODMs receive a complete solution that reduces development costs, while at the same time accelerates time to market.
We’ll see whether some company expresses interest in this. Actually we probably won’t as OEM/ODMs usually don’t disclose such information… Check out Comsys Mobile’s website for more information.
