Google Shopper for Android allows users to get product information while on the go

Google is out with a new Android application called Google Shopper. As you may presume, it allows shoppers to get product information while on the go. The application recognizes cover art of books, CDs, DVDs and video games, as well as most barcodes. You can either use your phone’s camera for product recognition or speak the name of the product you’re looking for.

Once you find a cool product, you can check out prices from other retailers. In addition, there are options for saving a product to favorites (star) and/or sharing it with friends. Moreover, you can browse through history of all the products you’ve found in the past, even when you’re out of signal.

Enough said, here’s a short video demonstrating Google Shopper in action.

To download Google Shopper to your Android smartphone, scan the QR Code below, or search for “Shopper” in the Android Market.

Finally, before I let you go, it’s worth reminding that Nokia have a similar application/service called Nokia Point & Find.
