WIND Enables Tethering and Streaming on BlackBerry Bold 9700

WIND Mobile is now allowing PC tethering for mobile internet access and media streaming on their BlackBerry Bold 9700. Understandably, these were big features that people were expecting and nagging about after enjoying them on any of the Big Three Canadian carriers, but it’s good to see WIND was listening (true to their tagline) and getting the problem ironed out. Both tethering and streaming will require WIND’s $35 Infinite BlackBerry data plan, which is unlimited until 5 GB of usage, after which your speeds are throttled.

I have no idea what the specific problem was when it came to having these features from the get-go, but between being a brand new network with a lot of stuff to sort out, and being the first Canadian carrier AWS bands. T-Mobile is running the same model on the same bands in the U.S., but I’m curious how willing they would be help out WIND up north with stuff like this…

    It was pretty easy for me to set up, one quick call to wind and they helped me set it up bing bam in no time. all i had to do was add a custom profile and under access point i entered “internet.windmobile.ca” and save and then hit ok. then i clicked connect and bam i was on, in fact im using it to type on here now and the browse speed is amazing. for people whining and complaining they can’t stream their porn with it then too bad its a wireless phone tethering internet be glad your online.
